The Final 10 Days of Christmas

Christmas is officially 10 days away, and somehow the calendar feels louder than ever- haha! The countdown has begun…lists are half-checked, packages are arriving…while so may still be being ordered, and the magic is quietly unfolding in between all the chaos.

This season always sneaks up on me. No matter how early I start, December has a way of moving fast. The school days blur together, evenings feel short, and suddenly we’re here…close enough to feel the excitement, but far enough to still soak in the moments that actually matter.

Right now (as I am holding it altogether and as the main magic maker), I am leaning into simple magic. The things that don’t require a trip to the store or another thing on the to-do list. Things like- the glow of the tree at night, Christmas music playing while the kids play or build something on the floor, simple crafts using what we have in the cabinet. It’s all the quiet moments and anticipation that lives in the spaces between traditions.

So, if you’re feeling behind, this is your reminder: you’re not late to the magic. It’s already happening and you are creating it all. These little moments where the simple magic is being created is also something my kids will remember when they get older. As Christmas inches closer, these next several days don’t need to be about doing more…they can more about noticing more.

Choose presence over perfection.

Let the traditions be imperfect.

Find joy in the simple things.

It is all about creating the memories that won’t show up on a checklist, but will stay with you long after the decorations have been packed away.

So cheers to the final days before Christmas arrives…may they feel intentional, slower, calmer and joyful.

If you’re feeling behind because your list isn’t finished or your home doesn’t look like the ones you see online, this is your reminder that Christmas doesn’t start when everything is done. It happens in the middle of all the things happening. The touches we add will always feel “not done” or “not enough” but remember that it is the moments in between all of that when the Christmas magic is actually being made.

Lately, I’ve been loving slow, quiet reels showing the tree lights at night, favorite Christmas corners, the in-between moments that remind me to slow down too. You can check out my latest posts here
