March 24, 2014 my Ava Layne entered this world.
God truly chose me to be your mama and knew that I needed you in my life, for you have taught me so many things.
You are my free spirited child so ready to take on the world. You see everything as an adventure, and are so determined to never give up. The world is one big puzzle for you as you figure things out day-by-day and I love that so much about you.
Your sense of style is quite inspirational and has taught me that every day can be a day to wear a flowy dress with heels and makeup…because why not?
You have taught me to have an abundance of patience as you are stubborn to listen especially when I tell you something you don’t want to hear…such as the answer no. As you say, I am the “no” mom.
And even though I am still teaching you how to use your inside voice, your fierce spirit is what makes you special, and I love every ounce of it. Your constant on-the-go energy wants me to follow everywhere you go to understand how you interpret the world.
You work so hard at learning to read and excel in school. You stand up for yourself by telling others, “You know, I can read”.
Your inquisitive personality constantly leads you to new discoveries and new questions. You have a mind of your own and always have since the day you were born… don’t change that for anyone.

This year for your birthday, we planned to do so much to celebrate your big day, yet world events have led us to stay home for our health and safety. No kindergarten friends celebrating your wonderful day, no family or friends from afar coming over, no socialization with the outside world, but that is ok…because we are so blessed and grateful to be safe and healthy.
So, on this day we made it all about you. We opened a few gifts in the morning, home schooled, played with you, opened more gifts, ate frozen pizza. We enjoyed homemade birthday cake with TONS of sprinkles, we sang happy birthday to you and watched you blow out the candles. You were so happy and so grateful…cheering that it was your BEST birthday ever because we were all here with you. I have to say… it was one of my best days ever too.
I love you baby girl.
