Elementary School Grad

Fifth Grade Grad!

I can’t believe I am writing this post. Didn’t I just walk her into her kindergarten class? Wow! My first baby has graduated elementary school. She is such a big girl and is growing up so beautifully. My little elementary school grad.

I couldn’t let this occasion pass and not write about it. She made me a mama and I am so proud of her.

How did the time fly by so fast?

Just a moment ago, I was juggling college and being a new mama to this kiddo, hiding piles of laundry behind the couch and now my Mattisyn is graduating elementary school.

This girl is a rock star! She has been through it all with me. I had her at such a young age that not only have I seen her grow, she has seen me grow. I didn’t realize it would fly by so fast.

Here she is kindergarten morning going into her class on the first day. She looks so little. I remember her being so nervous, yet so excited. She had the BEST kindergarten teacher ever! I was gifted the opportunity to be a teacher’s aide at the same school and her classroom was right down the hall. Being a a part of Mattisyn’s kindergarten year was an absolute blessing.

5th Grade Whirlwind

We have moved Mattisyn around so much with schools during her elementary years and she has been so good through it all.

5th Grade was another year of change. She had a brand new baby brother and we started the school year in the middle of a move. We were closing on our house at the end of August, so we made the decision to start the girls in their new school in hopes that everything would go through successfully. This was such a hard decision because Mattisyn had to leave the school she had been attending for 3 years to a new town 20 minutes away, not knowing ANYONE in the town or the school.

She is SOOOO much like me-an introvert, shy and timid especially in new situations. Yet, this girl did awesome. She really thrived in fifth grade making new friends and making A/B honor roll through all the chaos. Fernando and I are just so proud of her!

I am so excited to watch her succeed in middle school. She is planning on playing the flute in band (just like I did), and I can’t wait to dust off my instrument and practice with her.

Happy Fifth Grade Graduation, Mattisyn Clarie. We love you!
