Hosting a Hocus Pocus movie watch party is a wonderful way to celebrate the Halloween season with friends and family. Here’s a guide to help you plan a memorable Hocus Pocus movie night:

Fall is my favorite time of the year! Once October begins approaching I start planning fun things to do with the kids to celebrate the season. Over the years they have cherished these moments and activities. This Hocus Pocus watch party was fun to plan but I was pretty exhausted by the end of the night. I was a few weeks away from delivering baby #4 so putting my feet up at the end of the night felt so relieving. However, my kids still talk about how fun this night was despite my exhaustion.

Invitations

Invite all your friends and family by sending out spooky and fun invitations to your guests either digitally or on paper. I created these fun invitations that you can download today!

Decorations

Create a bewitching ambience with Halloween decorations. Include items such as witch brooms, cauldrons, witch hats, candles, lanterns, cobwebs, fake spiders, jack o’ lanterns, pumpkins and streamers.

Attire

Encourage your guests to dress up in Halloween costumes, as Hocus Pocus characters or just dressed comfortably.

Movie snacks

Serve a mix of Hocus Pocus and Halloween themed snacks. Fall trail mix, sausage wrapped mummies, grapes in mini cauldrons, Oreo witch hats, worms in dirt, themed cupcakes or cookies, oranges as “pumpkins”, apples and caramel, candies and of course popcorn!

Create a special potion drink with Halloween-themed cocktails and mocktails. I made a mocktail and placed it in a big cauldron with a ladle. You can easily add something for the adults using the recipe below. Use some Halloween ice cube trays to create an extra spooky affect to the drinks!

Movie set up

Make sure you have a high-quality screen and sound system for the best viewing experience. We purchased our screen and projector a few years ago and it has been the best investment.
