Cut Out Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Icing

  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients and mix together well.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet. Mix well until a ball of dough has formed.
  • Wrap the dough up in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling it out.
  • Remove the dough from the fridge, roll the dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out the desired shapes.
  • Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 9-10 minutes.

Confectioner's Sugar Icing

  • Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired thickness.
  • Transform this sugar glaze by adding a little coconut, almond or any of your other favorite flavored extracts.
