Cut Out Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Icing
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  2. Add in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients and mix together well.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet. Mix well until a ball of dough has formed.
  5. Wrap the dough up in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling it out.
  6. Remove the dough from the fridge, roll the dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out the desired shapes.
  7. Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
Confectioner's Sugar Icing
  1. Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired thickness.
  2. Transform this sugar glaze by adding a little coconut, almond or any of your other favorite flavored extracts.
