Embracing the Season of Fall
The “ber” months have arrived and I am so ready for all the Holiday and seasonal fun! Bring on the hot coffee out on the patio wrapped in a blanket. The arrival of fall is always my favorite time of the year. This season is marked by a symphony of colors, cooler temps that make you want to spend time outside and a sense of nostalgia. In this blog post, I will share some fun ideas on how to celebrate, cherish and embrace the arrival of fall.
Comfort food and cozy drinks.

Give me a hot steaming cup of apple cider, a big bowl of Texas chili, soft breadsticks to dip in creamy hot soup and a giant slice of apple pie! I am here for the fall food.
Each fall season I always start out making my favorite pumpkin bread! We eat this up quickly in my house as breakfast, snack or as a dessert with some warm butter on it. You can find my irresistible pumpkin bread recipe here!
You also can’t forget about the delicious sweet treats for the season. You can make crack candy for every holiday season. Just sprinkle some seasonal sprinkles on top of it to make it festive!
Harvest Festivities
Fall is known for its crispy air that brings relief after the sweltering summer heat. As the temperatures drop, break out your cozy sweaters and scarves and embrace the change in weather. Go carve pumpkins, attend your local fair, go trick or treating, go apple picking, find a nearby pumpkin patch or go on a hayride! Create a fall bucket list and start checking things off of it.
Cozy nights in
Host a movie watch party! We love having movies out on the lawn. You can see my post here about hosting a Hocus Pocus Movie Watch Party for friends and family. It is such a fun way to bring in the new season. Candles, blankets, and a crackling fire creates a relaxing atmosphere for quality time.
Home Decor
Fall is a wonderful time to embrace the coziness of the season add some rustic charm. Here are some ideas on how to infuse your home with warmth, comfort, and a touch of seasonal beauty:
- No fall decor is complete until you add some pumpkins and gourds around your home. Add them to your front porch, around your living area and kitchen area.
- In spaces around your home incorporate some flannel or plaid patterns with some textured pillows and blankets.
- Add some fall foliage throughout your home with a wreath on your front door, dried flowers, twigs or cotton stems in vases. Add fall colors such as golden yellow, rich oranges and reds.
- Add candles and lanterns to create an intimate and cozy atmosphere. Fall scents such as apple, cinnamon or pumpkin spice are some of my favorites. I enjoy the evenings lit by candles, lamps and lanterns cozied up with blanket.
The arrival of the fall season is time of transition and is a time that reminds us that change can be good as there is something special in each season of life. So, as we watch the leaves change colors we can discover comfort in the new experiences ahead and embrace the season of fall.
