It’s fall y’all! This is one of my favorite times of the year. The change in weather, the leaves changing colors, the holidays and Halloween are right around the corner. I absolutely LOVE this time of year. Each season I always create a bucket list of activities I want the family to do together. We create so many memories and enjoy the season together. My fall bucket list this includes the following:

  • Decorate the house with fall and spooky décor.
  • Decorate the front porch with fall décor including hay + pumpkins + flowers.
  • Make fall themed sweet treats such as cookies, dipped pretzels, cupcakes.
  • Enjoy the outside weather as much as possible by playing outside family games, picnics, and reading books.
  • Watch “scary” movies outside.
  • Make caramel covered apples.
  • Drink apple cider.
  • Paint pumpkins.
  • Make pumpkin bread.
  • Create fall themed crafts.
  • Plan a fun Halloween night-trick or treating and Halloween party.

I have to say, so far I have checked lots of things off of the list.

This fall we have enjoyed the weather so much. Texas gave us some early fall temperatures that I can’t complain about. Crisp morning and nights with warm days. I absolutely love it!

Here is the fun we have been having this fall already:

Decorate the house with fall and spooky decorations

The girls look forward to decorating each season. They love looking at the decor items that have been kept up in the attic and figuring out places to put it around the house. It has come a tradition that we do this together and listen to themed music while decorating around the house.

Decorate the front porch with fall decorations

This one took some time to do. Each weekend I tried to accomplish this we had a busy weekend with the kids’ sport events that I had to keep putting it off. Last weekend I was finally able to get it done and I have to say that I am happy with the results.

Enjoying the outside weather

Texas has given us the most beautiful fall weather this year. Usually, we have 100 degree days until the end of September. However, this year the weather started feeling like fall in September and has allowed us time to enjoy it. We have spent countless days and night outside playing Badminton, having picnics, and enjoying the fall weather.

Watch “scary” movies

I am not a fan of scary movies but I will watch the sweet Halloween movies from Disney and others that are rated PG. We have enjoyed watching Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Zombies, and others this year. It is so fun to pull out the projector and screen, cuddle up with some blankets and watch it out on the lawn.

Caramel covered apples

The girls really wanted to do try these this year because they see them at the store and always want to eat one. We tried doing it with apple slices. It didn’t work out the best, but I am going to revamp our recipe and we will be trying it again. Take a look at how cute the slices turned out.

Painting Pumpkins

We have done this every fall. It is such a fan fall activity to do. Every person gets a pumpkin and paints it to their liking. Aren’t these the cutest pumpkins ever??

Making my Famous Pumpkin Bread

Each year I make this as soon as the fall season begins and make it through winter. It is a recipe that is worth trying and sharing with others. You can find the full details and recipe here.

We still have quite few more things to check off of our list, but we still have lots of time left. Halloween costumes have been arriving in the mail and I am so excited to show y’all our costumes this year on Halloween.
