Christmas Decorations- Home Tour 2021
Wow! It is Christmas time! I am a little behind on this post. However, it’s so been busy. We have flu going through our house right now so I am juggling it all while trying to keep the Christmas spirit alive.
When I wrote my first Christmas House tour post last year, I didn’t really think much of my decor would change. However, a year later and lots of things have changed. 2 furniture pieces that I finished have been added and decorating them has been so fun!
I really enjoy finding new pieces to add to our decor each year. Each year is a clean slate with decor and I take time with finding the right place for each piece. If it doesn’t feel right, I take it down and start all over or move things around. I really don’t know how to share how I decorate- I really just decorate from a feeling inside asking myself if it is all in the right place or not.
I am still contemplating what pieces I will keep up for winter decor. It is still winter after Christmas. I still want winter decor up but don’t want it to look like Christmas in the house. We decorate each year for all the holidays, but I feel like once Christmas is over, winter has just begun and the house has to be decorated for the season.
A lot the pieces I added to this year’s Christmas decor were from Walmart and Target. Walmart had such fantastic Christmas section this year. There were so many affordable pieces to add. Other things I added were from the Target dollar section or little diy projects. You can check out a few diy projects in my other posts- paper bag snowflakes and orange sliced garland.
I am really proud of this room-I have been wanting wreaths on the windows for a long time. I decided to take to the blinds down, purchase some curtain rods and curtains. After Christmas, I will put the curtain rods and curtains up. In the meantime, I am enjoying how open this space looks and the darling wreaths hanging on the mirrors.
I absolutely love the glow the of the Christmas lights filling up each room. There is something just magical about it. I try to incorporate lights in each room. It gives such cozy vibes. I especially love to keep them on at night. So much glow to each room.
These adorable jars filled with reindeer food are my favorite. The kids and I spent some time outside creating this cute reindeers using some empty jars from the cupboard. I found some similar looking ones here. We added some yarn, googly eyes, and pipe cleaners to create the reindeer. Inside we added some oatmeal and glitter to sprinkle out on the lawn for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve night. You can find my free Reindeer Food printable poem download here.
